In the old days it was a tradition that a prayer was said into the ears of a new-born baby. That was a tradition in all religions which has now been lost. To prevent cramps, and many other disturbances, do the following: call the azahn, the call for prayer, into the right ear and the iqamat, the smaller call for prayer, into the left ear. Also always give sadaqa for every birth. Keep the Holy Book above the sleeping place of the baby, use a red or purple coloured cover over their head as a protection against the jinn and use a tawihs at all times. If cramps should still occur, then give extra sadaqa and make a massage with olive oil.
